The George in Rye is a former coaching inn on the High Street that now runs as a hotel, pub and restaurant, with several rooms available for weddings, parties, meetings and private dining. The main event space is a Georgian ballroom built in 1818 as an assembly room, and smaller rooms and a courtyard suit more intimate gatherings. The venue is listed by East Sussex County Council as an approved location for civil ceremonies, and guests can stay overnight in the hotel's bedrooms. The building reopened in 2022 after repairs following a fire, and the events team takes enquiries by phone or email.
